Bringing Live Theatre to McHenry County Since 1967

Help Theatre 121 and Bernie’s Book Bank Donate 1,500 Books

We’re partnering with Bernie’s Book Bank for a children’s book drive from March 1st to March 22nd. Drop off your new and gently used books (birth-6th grade) to help local at-risk children read their way to a better life. Our goal is to collect 1,500 donated books during the run of our production of Matilda the Musical. Learn how to donate books below!

  1. Check out this list of suggested books on Amazon. If you have these books already or similar books from this list you’re willing to part with, please make sure they are gently used.
  2. Add 1 or a few books to your next Amazon order and have them delivered to your home. Or, purchase these books at a local bookstore!
Please no textbooks, dictionaries, activity books, religious books or foreign language books
  3. Bring them to the Woodstock Opera House from 3/1/20 – 3/22/20 during their normal business hours or during a performance of Matilda the Musical.

Remember to also set up your Amazon Smile account to give back to Theatre 121!

If you don’t have your tickets for Matilda the Musical yet, act fast! You can call the Woodstock Opera House at 815-338-5300 or purchase tickets.
