COME OUT SINGIN’, is Theatre 121 Encore’s smash-hit karaoke competition!

 
Welcome to the TEEN version of our American Idol-style karaoke competition! Pre-selected, talented teen vocalists will go head-to-head, but only one will be named champion!

  • Attend in-person: Ticket sales go live at 10am CST the Sunday before each event

    • The stream will appear on the T121 Facebook at 7pm the day of the event!

    • A donation in your favorite contestant’s name will go toward deciding if they move on to the next round, or go home!

Encore! Presents Come Out Singin': A Karaoke Competition

Competition Rules and Regulations

By entering “Come Out Singin: TEEN’” (the Competition), you will be bound by these Terms & Conditions and you acknowledge that you satisfy all eligibility requirements.

Eligibility. Open to individuals (the Competitor) in 6th-12th grade or over. 

How to Enter. Individuals must register for one of three competition dates via the sign up link. There are 45 slots available (15 each night) and competitors are registered on a first come, first served basis. In the event there are no slots available, individuals may choose to put their name on a waiting list for review upon a competitor or competitors’ inability to complete the competition.

A non-refundable entry fee of $10 will be assessed to each competitor, to be paid in full during registration. 

For contestants under the age of 18, consent from a parent or guardian will be required in addition to the entry fee, prior to acceptance into the competition.

Marketing. Contestants will be asked to provide a selfie to the T121 marketing team for publicity purposes. If  contestant prefers, a general blank silouette can be used in place of their photo in marketing. 

  • All performances of COME OUT SINGIN’ will be recorded and live-streamed to Theatre 121’s facebook feed.
  • Videos will remain viewable on the Theatre 121 facebook page after recording is concluded.
Performances

Judging Method. Competitors will be evaluated on a points-based system consisting of input from judges, audience, and fundraising efforts and all decisions are final. Total points per competitor(s) will determine eligibility to move on in the competition.

  1. Judges. A panel of three judges will award zero to one point per contestant at each performance.
  2. Audience. Members of the audience will be able to endorse a contestant via a paper ballot distributed to them prior to each performance date. The competitor(s) with the most votes will receive 1 point.
  3. Fundraising. “Come Out Singin’” will host a fundraising event each performance, allowing audience members to donate in the name of an individual competitor. Competitor(s) receiving donations will receive 1 point each.
  4. Notifications. Competitors will be notified within 24 hours of the end of each performance whether they will be moving on to the final round of the competition.

Song Selection. Each song must be approved by the production team no later than one (1) day prior to the performance, to avoid duplication and ensure the song does not violate the code of conduct.

  • Competitors pre-select 2 songs to sing on their chosen performance night.
  • Competitors will be singing to karaoke tracks with lyrics viewable.
  • Songs of any style are permitted, but it is recommended to select two different styles to better show off your range.

Code of conduct. All production staff and competitors will be required to sign and complete a code of conduct letter of agreement prior to the beginning of the competition. Violation of the code of conduct guidelines will be determined by the producers of “Come Out Singin: TEEN’” and if validated will result in immediate removal from the competition and forfeiture of entrance fee.

Prizes. The winner of the competition will receive a $100 VISA gift card prize. The runner up will receive a $50 VISA gift card prize. Other prizes may be provided by sponsors or other parties and those will be awarded in accordance to the wishes of those parties as well as the producers of “Come Out Singin.’” Each such prize will be awarded “as is” and without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

Disclosure in Connection with Publicizing Entry. If you choose to promote your involvement on “Come Out Singin’” via social media or other channels, you should disclose your connection to the competition. For example, it may be sufficient to include a statement such as #ComeOutSingin.

Additional Terms. Producers of “Come Out Singin’” reserve the right to modify or cancel the competition at any time. “Come Out Singin’” its producers, sponsors, Theatre121 or the Woodstock Opera House are not responsible for: (a) lost, misdirected, late, or incomplete entries or for inaccurate entry information (b) lost, stolen or damaged property that may occur on the premises during the competition. Theatre 121, the Woodstock Opera House or the producers of “Come Out Singin’” may disqualify any individual found to be: violating these Terms & Conditions or acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to threaten or harass any person (Code of Conduct).

Miscellaneous. “Come Out Singin’” is governed by the laws of the United States and conducted in accordance with City of Woodstock guidelines. By entering the competition, you agree (for yourself and your heirs) that Theatre121, the Woodstock Opera House, and each of their respective affiliates and agents, and any entity involved in any aspect of the competition (all aforementioned parties are collectively, the “Released Parties”) will have no liability, and will be held harmless from and against liability, loss, injury or damage to property or person, including death, and reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize or participation in the competition, even if caused or contributed to by the negligence of any of the Released Parties.

You agree that judges and producers’ decisions related to each round of the competition and all distribution of prizes are final. Each competitor agrees that, by participating in the competition, Theatre 121, the Woodstock Opera House, and their respective affiliates may use the competitor’s name, likeness and performance in any manner and in any medium for promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law, and the producers, their respective affiliates may be required to disclose the winner’s address to state regulatory authorities.

Privacy Notice: Except for promotional purposes as stated above, any and all information submitted or collected from competitors in connection with “Come Out Singin’” will be treated with respect for the privacy of the individual and will not be shared, sold, or otherwise disseminated without written permission.
